JORDAN – Jordan and Switzerland have just signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance political and security consultations, and boost cooperation.
The MoU was signed by Minister of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs Ayman Safadi and his Swiss counterpart Didier Burkhalter, who reiterated the two countries’ interests to take practical steps to cement economic, education and tourism ties.
Safadi briefed the Swiss minister about the huge burdens being borne by Jordan as a result of hosting large numbers of Syrian refugees. He also called for more support from the international community to help Jordan continue to do its duties towards the refugees.
The two ministers also touched on regional issues, mainly the peace process and the Syrian crisis.
